Here he was again. The Vampire in my church. With the bodies piling up I had to suspect someone. I chose Vladimir Sykolis. He showed up at church wearing what looked like a gallon of sunblock and solid black clothing. He attended the funerals of all the victims even though he knew none of them. He always appeared sad, as if he wished he hadn't killed those people. So far he had given me no proof. Everyone looked at me strangely when I questioned him after church. I am a policeman after all. I have every right to be questioning suspects. One day I heard Mrs. Landers quietly ask her daughter why I was talking to the ficus. She must finally be going senile, at age 82. But hen again I have not slept for days and am not the picture off health either.... Was Vladimir wearing a garlic necklace?! To mock me of course! But now knew exactly where he I hid the bodies and had enough info to pin him for the crimes.
I purposefully walked toward Vladimir. When I was about to call his name my girlfriend burst in.
"Connor!, Connor!" she called and I rushed over to her.
"What, I am about to pin that man for murder!" I said pointing at Vladimir
"Of course, but you have to come with me"
"Not now Sara, I have to attend to th-"
"Come on" she said and grabbed my arm. I got really angry and began to get light headed. When I got worked up over something I always got lightheaded and sometimes even passed out. My doctor said I didn't have Narcolepsy though. I must have been pretty angry, because I passed out

Connor was acting badly. His composure was changing like it does when the doctors restrain him occasionally. I was his nurse. He believed I was his girlfriend. He had seen a friend die and lost it. For the last year he has been left in his home with just me to watch over him. Sometimes doctors stopped by to check up on him. For the last two weeks he has been sneaking out and then the bodies started showing up. I feared he was doing it and just today found a piece of a shirt belonging to a victim. So I went to the church to get him. He had to be in a heavily guarded hospital, not a residential neighborhood. I already called the hospital to collect him but when they got to the house he wasn't there.
So now here I was hoping he wasn't going to kill me. Connor was a kind, happy man and didn't seem like one to ever murder someone. But here I saw what happened. He had a Mr. Hyde personality and didn't know it. I glanced over to where he had pointed when he had spoken about the murderer. The only person that had been in the room. No one was there. Just a potted ficus. The very ficus Connor had been talking to every Sunday at church about the murders. I now knew what had happened. Connor's mind had created a split person to be responsible for the crimes. Someone to be the perpetrator in Connor's magnificent fake reality. But now that amazingly executed cover up by Connor's brain was going to kill me.
